About

Welcome to Random Thoughts on an Imperfect World. This is a return to blogging for me after a gap of about 10 years. I see the blog as a place to collect my views on different aspects of the complex World we inhabit. I am currently a medic working in Scotland. My politics are distinctly left-wing. I have worked for the National Health Service for many years, and I am a staunch defender of it. I was appalled at the Brexit vote in the EU Referendum, and I am committed to doing what I can to minimise the damage I feel it could do to the UK.

Apart from politics, my interests include photography, travel, mindfulness and Buddhism, science and technology. I am very interested in languages and reading, including quotations.

I am very grateful for feedback on my posts.
